The moisture absorption and sweat removal properties of fiber depend on its chemical composition and physical structure. Gaseous water vaporized from the skin surface is first absorbed by the fibrous material (i.e. The liquid water on the surface of the skin is absorbed, diffused and evaporated (i.e., dehumidified) by the pores (capillaries, micropores, grooves) inside the fiber and the capillaries between the fibers. The results of the two actions lead to the migration of water, the former is mainly related to the chemical composition of fiber macromolecules, and the latter is related to the physical structure and morphology of fiber.
Moisture absorption and sweat removal fibers generally have a high specific surface area, with many surface holes or grooves.their cross-sections are generally of special shape, and the capillary effect enables the fibers to quickly absorb moisture and sweat on the skin surface, and then transmit it to the outer layer through diffusion and evaporation.
